🐻📑 GRIZ GM REPORT
Hey, Griz Fans, it’s Marcus again!
I’ve had a few people reach out asking what NIL even is. NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness, which describes how college athletes can receive financial compensation. Essentially, NIL allows athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness through marketing and promotional endeavors. This can include autograph signings, product endorsements, social media posts, and more.
In simple terms, college athletes were never allowed to get paid or profit from their NIL until the NCAA changed the rules in 2021. This change was intended to allow athletes to finally use their popularity to get paid for the activities mentioned above. However, the transition has been significant—from being unable to feed players hot dogs after games to athletes at the biggest schools making millions a year—which can be confusing for some fans.
At Montana, it’s important to understand that we can now compensate athletes legally and in compliance with NCAA regulations. This will become necessary if we want to keep our best players. As the weeks go on, I will continue to educate you on this topic, so please reply with any questions you may have.
Good Ol’ Grizzlies Members: A few exciting changes are coming soon, and I can’t wait to announce them once they’re finalized. Keep an eye out for an email from me this upcoming week!

🏈 SEASON TICKET SALES BOOM
The Montana Grizzlies shattered records for both season ticket sales and single-game attendance at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in 2023, and they’re poised to do it again in 2024. With kickoff still over two months away, over 95 percent of last year’s record 18,761 season ticket holders have renewed their seats, and new season ticket packages are selling rapidly. And for good reason: in 2024, Montana will host seven regular-season home games for the first time in 17 years, offering season ticket holders even more value for their investment (READ MORE).
